Stuck in a cycle of not making progress with your health and fitness?

Let’s face it - you want to get healthier, get strong, fit, and reduce aches and pains.

But, there are 3 main things that are holding you back.

Not having the discipline.

Not having the knowledge.

Not having the structure or guidance.

Without discipline, you’ll only put the work in on the days you’re feeling motivated (which can be few and far between!)

Without the appropriate knowledge, you’re most likely guessing by throwing together stuff you’ve seen online and hoping for the best.

Without structure or guidance, you have no plan to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.

If any of the above sounds familiar, I’m here to help.

With more than 18 years gym experience, and over 6 years professional experience working with individuals from rehab to performance, my goal is to help you become the best version of yourself.

What makes my coaching different?

There are three main components we will target in your physical training when you work with me:

Building lasting and useable strength (and in turn getting in incredible shape)

Improving your cardiorespiratory system (how well your heart and lungs work)

Creating a pain-free and mobile body (so that you can continue doing the things you love without limitations)

My coaching programmes get you strong, mobile and in the best physical shape of your life, all whilst reducing aches and pains and moving better than ever.

Over the past 6 years, I have invested thousands of pounds and countless hours studying under leading experts in the fields of human movement, strength and conditioning, biomechanics, and rehabilitation, all with the simple goal of providing my clients with the best coaching service available on the market.

What’s Involved?

Movement Assessment

An in-depth assessment that looks at the whole body with the goal of painting a picture of any limitations or compensations that are present, and how these may be influencing your overall movement and mobility.

Consultation

Here we discuss any previous injuries alongside your training history, paint a picture of your habits and lifestyle, discuss treatments or training that failed you in the past, and start to create a plan to work towards your individual goals.

Individual Programme

I will personally create a bespoke training plan based off of the findings from the assessment, alongside our consultation, to get you to where you want to be. Whether thats do to with your specific sport, running a marathon, getting stronger, improving your health, or simply moving and feeling better than ever.

Monthly Review Session

This is a super important but often overlooked aspect of coaching - having a regular check-in where we discuss how the plan is going, if you’re enjoying the sessions or want to tweak things, and if we are moving in the right direction. This allows rapport and communication to stay high, and provides an opportunity to make changes so that you continue to progress and don’t become stagnant. These sessions can include re-assessment, or look at specific metric measurements related to your goals.

“Just finished a block of sessions with David and I'm blown away by the improvements. I had contacted David regarding back and hip pain. After an initial assessment David provided me with exercises that although difficult at first, I noticed huge improvements in only a few days. David explained exactly why we were performing the exercises and how they were relevant to my situation, and at the end of every session the changes were noticeable. His attention to detail and knowledge far surpasses anyone else I have seen. I now have almost zero pain and feel much more grounded in my body and am starting to build back my strength again. Thank you so much”

- Jan Stevens

“I first completed a consultation and movement assessment with David, focusing on some areas which I had previously had ongoing issues with following sporting injuries. David identified areas with limited movement and explained which exercises would help and also why. Fast forward a few months and I have increased mobility in my shoulder and increased strength through lower body conditioning. I would highly recommend David for and rehabilitation work and conditioning, he has a wealth of knowledge and a fantastic attitude.”

- Aaron Mckee

“I recruited David to address some movement limitations that were hindering my martial arts training.
David was able to restore full range of motion to my scapula in 1 hour - something NHS physios couldn't resolve in 6 weeks. His knowledge of physiology is next level, and he educates as he rehabilitates. Can't recommend enough!”

- Chris Maguire

“Couldn’t recommend David enough. First got in touch for help with improving my mobility and general strength but not having a clue where to start. Following a mobility and functional movement assessment we decided to focus on calisthenics and strength training. I’ve progressed beyond what I thought possible in the time we’ve been working together! David’s given me a wealth of knowledge, and even helped me tackle a persistent knee issue by guiding me through realigning postural and stance imbalances, much more than I initially expected at the beginning. Highly recommend working with David based on my experience! Also, the space is great, really comfortable and welcoming.”

- Conor McDevitt

“David has so much knowledge In his field. He has been helping me with a few back and hip issues for the past couple months and the noticeable changes that I have felt have been unreal. I highly recommend booking in with him for anyone with mobility issues, pain or discomfort. The movement loft is a really nice welcoming space too which really adds to the whole experience”

- Rachel Toman

“I made the decision to go to David initially with the sole ambition of improving my Olympic lifting mobility however, to say the improvements were life-changing would do a disservice to David. I now have an incredibly improved range of motion in all my joints, I no longer have to spend 20+ minutes warming up before a weights session, and - probably most importantly - I no longer have any back pain from sitting at a desk all day. Thank you very much David!”

FAQs

Do you offer Physiotherapy?

I haven’t studied a degree in Physiotherapy, therefore I am unable to diagnose or treat certain conditions, including acute or early-stage injuries.

I have, however, qualifications in Strength and Conditioning, Sports Massage Therapy, and Personal Training.

Alongside this, I have attended and studied under experts in the fields of human movement and rehabilitation, attending dozens of workshops, courses and seminars.

Many leading physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors worldwide also use the content and information from these same courses within their practice.

I combine the knowledge from these courses, alongside my experience in exercise science, strength training, conditioning, and biomechanics, to provide a holistic or ‘big-picture’ approach to fitness.

What type of clients do you work with?

I work with all types of individuals - from general pop, to sporting hobbyists, to full-time athletes.

No matter the goal, each of us lives in a human body, therefore treating the body to function better should be the first priority.

For some people, their goal is simply to get moving and feel better, whilst others train to enhance their sporting performance.

I have studied a broad spectrum of courses from joint-specific mobility training, to courses on improving human gait and breathing, to sport-specific courses that focus on coordination and motor learning.

No matter your goal or starting point, whether you have never stepped foot in a gym before, or else you are a more advanced movement enthusiast, I’ll be able to create a programme specific to your goals, needs and lifestyle.

What if I miss a session / need time off?

I’ve always been and continue to be flexible with my clients on missing appointments, as I understand life is uncertain, and things can change with work or family life.

Ideally, we can arrange to make the session up either at another time the same week, or add the session to another week within the same month.

If for whatever reason this is not possible, or, for example, extended time off is needed for holidays, I will change the price of the monthly payment accordingly to reflect the amount of sessions undertaken.

That said, if it happens regularly, without a valid reason behind missing the session, then the session will be lost.

However, I establish great rapport with each of my clients, keeping communication paramount, so I will deal with each situation on an individual basis.
